Yeah, I was strongly considering Gerrans sans my third choice.
Degenkolb is a good pick.

Well the weather ought to be better than last year! 60ish rain possible, turning to a sunny finish.

Pros riding carbon wheels in the rain sure has come a long way. When first introduced no one would, looks like a bunch now think its a good idea.

Ughh,
First pick sick, 2nd pick flats at foot of Poggio, 3rd pick...oh well. No leadout from Stybar for Cav?

Props to Purito for bringing his man up to the front in the final Kilo. Red carpet treatment.

you mean Paolini?
As usual, the sprint for MSR looks like a bunch of drunks stumbling to the line. Paolini I'm sure did inspire confidence for his mate even if at the end no one really had any teammates for a real leadout.

Yeah, I got my P's mixed up. I had to go re-watch the finale.
I gotta say, after 180 miles and the Poggio...the fact that Cancellara beat every name sprinter to the line says it all about the race. I'd be riding to the line like a drunk as well.

Didn't see the live footage but there was a picture of Kristoff mid race with the caption talking of him wearing everything in his closet. I wonder how much advantage that gave him when he stripped for action before the last two climbs and got to ride legs that had been protected for 5 hours. Sagan talked of his legs being "blocked". Mine would be worse than that after being bare in those conditions for hours.
