Oh well, Stick-Figure is out. Thus the Alien is confirmed for the Tour and won't have to exhaust himself at the Dauphine... that's good for him. Personally, I'll be rooting for an Evans repeat. Can't warm up to Alberto Tainted Beef Contador.

Not that I like Sky's style of riding but would have liked to see Wiggo in the mix; he's a funny character. Cycling needs more funny characters. That's really the contribution of British cycling.

He must have simply told Sky that there was NO WAY he was riding in support of another rider, and he shouldn't. Froome should have left.

This is playing out exactly as I predicted at the beginning of the year. Wiggins decided he didn't want to run with the Sky "program" again this year and gave it a run clean at the Giro knowing there was no way he's winning the TDF clean. When he faltered at the Giro he basically pulled the plug. He and the Sky brain trust are setting up his excuses for retirement at the end of the year with this "knee trouble" stuff.

JS, a bit of a cyncial view of the cycling world, but after what we've seen in the recent past I am not willing to dismiss your theory. What you say has a ring of reality to it

There is too much at stake (and money) for Wiggins to just drop out because he feels he can't win. I believe the knee trouble story. It is probably a result of over training and/or trying too hard due to the pressure he feels from Froome.
