Definitely the wrong forum. Putin rides horses, not bicycles.

Well Smokey, even Putin has redeeming qualities: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2002504/Fancy-bike-ride-park-How-informal-meeting-Moscow-decide-runs-Russia-year.html

I guess leasing a bike is becoming a growth market if one is to go by new JV sponsorship.

That seems to be most of pro cycling sponsorships. It hardly seems like there is a decent ROI throwing millions at a sport that most people get to view for free and has minimal TV revenue.

Sure, you can get 30,000 Belgians to shell out a few Euro to watch a cyclocross race but honest to goodness paying spectators at the Tour or Giro? Hardly enough to sustain a big budget team.

Yes there’s that but it seems like a pretty massive business with lots of users (leasing electric bikes for employment purposes) in different countries that I was completely unaware of. So that suggests sponsoring to get name out maybe a useful investment.

Yo Dale, maybe TV dollars are the holy grail, not paying roadside spectators?

Sponsorships in cycling in 2023:

* wealthy billionaire / benefactor
* ME countries interested in sportswashing

No one else need apply.
