J_A, the cyclingnews forum is still down and lots of the dust-up was deleted if I remember. Here it is paraphrased on another site: http://forums.roadbikereview.com/doping-forum/joe-papp-290905.html It was quite the dust-up. If the forum was back up after a day or 3, I would buy the IT story. I get the feeling its a little more. Anyways...gotta say, the incident really killed the forum - it is DOA for all intents and purposes. It soured the relationship between the users and the moderators and I don't think it ever will recover. The combative back forth between several users and the moderators brings out the worst in both parties. As far as Papp Smear? Well, darn. The cn forums site is still down. What am I going to do for my morning funnies now? The absolute obsessive nature of pretty much every single post in the doping forum was such a glorious study in neurosis. The way people on the Internet are willing to argue the same point year after year after year, with the same people will never cease to amaze me.

Looks like they have some security issues. When I click on CN's The Clinic forum or other internal forums (I had a page open on my browser) I'm seeing this: "Important security update about Future forums PC Gamer Last week on the 19th July 2013 we discovered that PC Gamer's vBulletin-powered forum had been the target of a malicious attack. Immediate action was taken to shut the forum which blocked the attack and we have since been thoroughly investigating the damage done and how this attack took place. We have no evidence that any of the PC Gamer's users' details were stolen. However we feel it is safest to keep the forum closed until we are satisfied that the security vulnerability in the software is fixed. Information on the progress of this will be communicated via the PCGamer site. Other Future Forums If you are seeing this message it is because this vBulletin forum has been closed as a precautionary measure. We have no evidence this forum has been compromised, however we are investigating each forum in our network individually to be sure this is the case. The website teams will be in touch with more information on the progress of this as soon as it becomes available. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused, we take our user's security very seriously and we appreciate your patience."

The conspiracy nuts are now trying to claim that SKY and Froome made CN shut down their forums or risk being sued. Seriously?

Seriously? maybe not so far-fetched. forums can be held liable for their content. even if they win, they will have spent a ton of money in legal bills. and we know who owns Sky.
