Sorry, he deserves all the ridicule he gets for whoring the cancer community to enrich himself. From a corporate standpoint, that was an excellent thing to do. From a human perspective, he does not get a pass. I for one do not respect this so-called "fight" that he won because he battled so hard. You survive cancer because of the quality of treatment and luck. There is nothing heroic about his "fight" with cancer when you look at it from that perspective. Stop making this guy into a hero. Plenty of survivors who deserve our praise much more than this two-bit nutria.

+1

"You're such an inspiration" has to be the most annoying statement to someone who just wants to get over it and enjoy life.  What other choice is there, curl up and die?

I see this as a simple matter of respect; for myself, whether or not the other person/people deserve it. Using terms like those discussed here makes me feel smaller. If it makes you feel bigger, all power to you.

Spot on Ben. Thanks for that. Pretty much why I participate less and less on forums and instead just post my thoughts on FB.

Ted Kaczynski is likely also unhappy with the cross-reference to -7.

One Ball Cafe....lol, keep it classy Lance.

As far as surviving cancer, he deserves credit for his personal fight. It's a psychological battle when faced with a life threatening disease, of course the docs save you but there is a lot going on upstairs that can't be dismissed, even if the guy is King A**.

What is it with guys and their diction? You can’t just snip the “s” from the plural to form the singular. The singular of “testes” is “testis.” It’s a Latin word that originally meant “witness" and is, not surprisingly, the root from which we get "testimony."

Well, then, Ahem, what is it with women- You wrote "snip" and "testis" in the same sentence. No guy would do that!
( hurts just to think about it.)

LSD, before I typed "snip" I was about to type "chop," which just seemed a little too blatantly mischievous. I'll leave it to the others here to track down how it happened that "testes" and "testimony" could share a common etymology.

Meanwhile, this has me considering the good fortune of Ms. Hadid's having been chosen as architect for Qatar's new Al Wakrah sports stadium. Otherwise, well ...

Speaking of our favorite person interesting quotes from recent interview after his meeting with one of his victims Emma O'Relily,

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-2508961/LANCE-ARMSTRONG-WORLD-EXCLUSIVE-Drugs-cheat-meets-accuser-Emma-OReilly.html

Here's one of my favorties:
"'At the time, when I said what I said about her, I was fighting to protect a lot of positions. But it was inexcusable. It's embarrassing. I was in a conference room, giving a legal deposition, and I had no idea it was going to get out. "

So his excuse was that he only meant to slander her in a legal deposition, so it really doesn't count. I had no intention of publicly ruining her. I was just committing perjury when I did it.
Sounds like he has learned alot and is really sincere

Later in the interview:
"'Don't think I'm protecting any guys after the way they treated me, that is ludicrous,' he says. 'I'm not protecting them at all. I have no loyalty towards them. In the proper forum I'll tell everyone what they want to know. I'm not going to lie to protect these guys. I hate them. They threw me under the bus. I'm done with them."

So in other words, because they weren't willing to perjury themselves for me they threw me under the bus and now I will get back at them....way to go Lance, you are a changed person.

I think he was referring to people in the UCI in that last quote, not people who testified against him.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

You are correct, I guess I was just very impressed with his unchanged attitude about all of this. It is not because he wants to come clean, or now wants to do the right thing. Once again it is revenge motivated.
He has not really learned anything
