Sprinter looking forward to first season as a pro

Lampre ISDMassimo Graziato has been a stagiaire with Lampre-ISD since August of 2011 and he made the best out of his opportunity. The Italian is now being given a contract for 2012 on the basis of his performances. Graziato did several high-profile races, such as the Volta ao Portugal or Paris-Tours.

Graziato had good things to say about the fall period that he raced with the Lampre squad. "The first weeks went pretty well and I think I showed my potential and I put myself into the team's service," he said. In Portugal he helped Francesco Gavazzi to two stage victories. He was impressed with the setup he encountered. "The team is very professional. There are a lot of champions and the first impression is very good," he said.

Graziato is a fast man. "I am good in the sprints, I did well in the Baby Giro." He was third in stage one of the espoir version of the Giro d'Italia this year. But what comes in the years ahead he is not yet clear on. "I do a little bit of everything."

In 2011 he did very well in the Giro del Friuli Venezia Giulia. In stage two, he sprinted to a clean win after 166.8 kilometers, from Azzana Decimo to Pordenone. He held the leader's jersey for one stage. In 2010 he won amateur races like the Trofeo Edil and Vicenza-Bionde.

His hobbies also involve different types of speed. "As for other sports, I enjoy motor bike racing and formula one. I like music and hanging out with friends." He was born in Este and now lives in a small village. "You don't know it," he said with a smile. "The town has only four hundred people."
