Voeckler wins Tour du Haut-Var

Today Frenchman Thomas Voeckler (Bouygues Telecom) won the 41st edition of the Tour du Haut-Var. He took honors on the 188 km second stage between Draguignan and Callian edging out his fellow countryman David Moncoutie (Cofidis) and Dane Chris Anker Sörensen (Saxo Bank).

The decisive move cam on the last climb of the day. Moncoutie attacked and Voeckler went with him and was able to seperate himself from his countryman by the finish. Spaniard Luis Leon Sanchez (Caisse d`Epargne), took the win and the leaders jersey in the first stage, but could only manage to hold on to 15th 16 seconds of Voeckler's winning bid.
