Team Quick-Step will be sending a strong team to Milan-Sanremo with an eye on getting Tom Boonen his second win in the first Spring Classic of the season.
Boonen has had an excellent start to the season with a wins in the Tour of Qatar and the semi-classic Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. Team Columbia - High Road sprinter seemed to have Boonen's number in the sprints, but the big Belgian also runs a different schedule in the beginning of the season since he does the "cobbled-classics".
Riding in support of Boonen will be the current UCI World Ranking leader, Australian Allan Davis, and Frenchman Sylvain Chavanel, who’s fresh off an extraordinary performance in the Paris-Nice. Chavanel won a stage, took the leaders jersey for three days, won the points jersey, and finished third in the general classification.
Davis and Chavanel are both new additions to the team for this season, and have already proven that Patrick Lefevre made a good decision in bringing them on board. Davis won the Tour Down Under in Australia earlier this year, and Chavanel showed up in the Belgian season openers in incredible condition and having no issues with working for team leader Boonen.
