Team Lampre-NGC took advantage of the sunny weather to do reonnosicne of the Liege-Bastogne-Liege course.
The team started from Stavelot at 10:30, and team leader Damiano Cunego along with his teammates covered more than 80 km of the route. They focused on the last section of the race finishing their day in Ans, where Sunday's winner will make thier bid.
"It was very important covering the race parcour, because every côte is important," explained Cunego. "The training was usefull in order to chose the gears: I think I'll use 53-39 and 12-27. Talking about the race, I think my fit will allow me to compete for a good result."
Finishing third in Fleche Wallonne and fifth in the Amstel Gold race put the Italian amongst the top favorites for Sunday's classic showdown.
