In the latest of several additions for next season, Lampre has announced another new signing as the team prepares for 2013. Added to the roster for the new season is 25 year old Kristijan Durasek, who becomes the first Croatian rider to join the Italian squad in twenty years.
"It was my dream, a huge gratification after many efforts,” he said. “I thank the teams that supported me during my career. In 2012 I performed an interesting season and I'm sure I will be able to improve my qualities in a top team such Team Lampre".
He moves from the Slovenian Adria Mobil team and although he has had no wins the season, Durasek still managed some credible results. He finished second in the Croatian national Road and TT championships, third in GP Industria & Artigianato – Larciano and third on a stage of Giro di Padania.
In 2011 Durasek won both the Croatian road and TT championships.
Other new recruits to Lampre include Roberto Ferrari, Josè Serpa, Jan Polanc, Maximiliano Ariel Richeze, Elia Favilli and Luca Wackermann. Filippo Pozzato also confirmed via his Twitter account that he has signed a three-year deal with the team.
Grega Bole and Danilo Hondo are amongst those who are expected to depart.
