Countdown continues towards historic Corsica start

Tour de France 2013With the start of the 2013 Tour de France now 122 days away, race organisers ASO have issued a evocative video which both nods to past editions of the event and also acts as a trailer to this year’s running of cycling’s biggest race.

Including images from the first Tours plus many of the great champions, the clip celebrates the fact that this year’s Tour will be the 100th edition.

It will begin in Corsica for the first time ever and after three days there heads to Nice and the holding of a 25 kilometre team time trial. There will also be individual races against the clock at Mont-Saint-Michel and Chorges, summit finishes at Ax-3 domaines, Mont Ventoux, l’Alpe d’Huez and Annecy-Semnoz, plus a night-time finish on the Champs Elysees in Paris.
