Strong line-up for two day Corsican race

Cadel EvansSeeking to use the race as a chance to compete on Corsican soil prior to the Tour de France start there, some of cycling’s top names have been confirmed by ASO as taking part in this month’s Critérium International.

The race organiser, which also runs the Tour itself, has announced that several of those who will compete for overall honours in the Tour will take part in the two day race, which comprises two road race stages plus a time trial.

The lineup includes former Tour de France winners Cadel Evans (BMC Racing Team), who will start as defending champion, Alberto Contador (Team Saxo Tinkoff) and Andy Schleck (RadioShack Leopard), although the latter’s participation is yet to be confirmed by his team.
