Milram to race Black Forest and Switzerland

Led by Tour of Bavaria winner Linus Gerdemann, Team Milram will compete at the GP Triberg-Schwarzwald (UCI category 1.1) on Saturday, June 6. On the following day, the German ProTour team will be at the start at the GP Kanton Aargau (UCI category 1.HC). At the Swiss one-day race, Milram rider Ronny Scholz will be taking Gerdemann’s place in the roster after having overcome his back problems that forced the 31-year-old to abandon the Giro. After the race in the Black Forest, the Milram captain will leave for a training camp at altitude to prepare further fort he Tour de France.
"At the GP Triberg-Schwarzwald, a challenging circuit course with over 500 difference in altitude awaits us – you have to push your pedals hard there,“ said MILRAM captain Linus Gerdemann. "I am excited to go to the race, also because it is taking place in Germany and therefore gives us the opportunity to present ourselves at home.:
Both upcoming races are held over circuit courses that will have to be mastered several times. In the Black Forest, the 25km-lap will be raced six times before the winner will cross the finish line after 150 kilometres. At the GP Kanton Aargau, a challenging 19.6km-long course leading around the city of Gippingen will be taken on a total of ten times. Three years ago, Linus Gerdemann finished seventh at the Swiss one-day race for his former Team T-Mobile. Milram rider Peter Velits placed third at GP Triberg-Scharzwald in 2007, wearing the Wiesenhof-Felt jersey.
