Press Release
Cervélo TestTeam's pre-selected Tour de France riders met Monday to prepare for the Team Time Trial that takes place during this year's Tour de France. With several strong time trial riders on the team, the objective of the exercise was to test the new Cervélo P4 Time Trial bikes and to work with the mechanics and race engineer to ensure that all riders had the right fit and correct position. The Team worked at the Buochs Airport near their home base in Switzerland. They are aiming to take full advantage of the 39km fourth stage team time trial in Montpellier on July 7.
Additionally, the last selection of the team's nine Tour de France riders took place today, and will be announced at the end of the week.
"We are very confident and quite pleased with the Team's performance," said Sport Director Alex Sans Vega. "The TTT is one of the important stages for the GC at the Tour de France and to reach our goal of a top place finish in the overall ranking, this stage could play a key role. Despite the bad weather today we accomplished what we set out to do - try different start orders and different positions."
