Spaniard Pedro Horrillo has been released from the hospital after being treated for his spectacular crash in the Giro d'Italia.

After leaving hospital on Wednesday he is uncertain about the possibility of fully recovering from his injuries and returning to the sport.

"It would be tough to give up professional cycling in this way but it was an accident which I will just have to accept," the Rabobank rider said to reporters.

Horrillo suffered multiple fractures after falling down a ravine in stage 8 of the Giro d'Italia last month. He was pulled out after a 20 minute search by rescue teams after falling over 150 feet down the cliff. He was treated in Italy before being airlifted home to Spain.

"I am glad to have survived to tell the tale, especially after I saw the pictures showing the ravine where I fell," he reflected.
