Armstrong's new sponsor rumblings

Rumors about seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong's new team are at an all-time high this week. With details from anonymous sources flying all over the place, it looks like we won't have to wait for his press conference later today for an answer.

What we know is that the company is not Nike or Livestrong, it is based in Fort Worth, Texas and the domain name "teamradioshack.com" has recently been registered by Armstrong's longtime management company Capital Sports & Entertainment.

While the Armstrong camp will neither confirm or deny that RadioShack is the sponsor, the writing is on the wall. Not only is the evidence overwhelming, but the electronics store chain fits the profile with retail stores in the United States, Europe, Central America, South America and Africa, and big sports sponsorships in NASCAR, the NBA and MLS.

The official announcement will be made after today’s time trial in Annecy.
