The big battle in Amsterdam continued yesterday with yet another change in leadership in the race. Dutchmen Nick Stöpler and Yoeri Havik (AA Drink) jumped from third to first overall with some great racing, overhauling previous leaders Leif Lampater (Germany) and Raymond Kreder (Netherlands) and opening an eight point advantage.
Stöpler and Havik had been one lap behind but managed to get that back and also to increase their points total to 135; Lampater and Kreder ended the day on 127, while ICS Visa duo Pim Ligthart (Netherlands) and Marcel Kalz (Germany) moved to third with 102 points.
Monday’s leaders Kenny De Ketele and Gijs Van Hoecke (Deelen Verswaren) have the highest points total on 140, but have dropped to fourth place as they are a lap down.
Racing continues today with another fast and furious session in the velodrome. The action can be watched live here as it unfolds.
