With just two evenings’ racing remaining in the Amsterdam Six day, the battle is heating up for the final honours. Last year’s winner Pim Ligthart plus his ICS – Visa partner Marcel Kalz jumped from third to first yesterday, taking a lap out of their closest rivals and ending the session with 134 points.
Deelen Verswaren duo Kenny De Ketele and Gijs Van Hoecke (Bel) also moved up two places, going from fourth to second overall and holding an impressive 188 points, while previous leaders Nick Stöpler and Yoeri Havik (Ned) of AA Drink conceded a lap and dropped to third, holding 170 points.
Leif Lampater (Ger) and Raymond Kreder (Ned) of Boretti had been second overall but also conceded a lap and dropped to fourth.
