The Omega Pharma Quick Step team has unveiled a new look for 2014, with a black colour scheme being introduced to the kit and reworking the appearance of the team.
The jersey was unveiled today and sees the previous blue shoulders and white midriff being replaced by black.
It is once again produced by Vermarc, and the jersey will display the Twitter accounts of each different rider. It will also feature the world championship team time trial winner’s emblem, being a reference to the team’s repeat win this year.
Flemish company Innergetic – which supplies the team with mattresses and pillows to use, even at races – has been replaced by sister brand Latexco.
“We are happy with the design of our new jersey,” stated the team manager Patrick Lefevere. “The 2014 design is an evolution that follows in the footsteps of the jersey from the previous two years. This is partly made possible by the important and loyal sponsors that appear on our clothes. Thanks to them we are able to ensure the continuity of the team and build up a clear corporate image linked to a strong communication strategy.
He said that the riders had an input into the creation process, giving indications of improvements and changes that were needed. “Their feedback and ideas were an important factor in reaching this result. We are sure that our fans will be able to appreciate a jersey that can wisely combine the tradition and history of OPQS with a modern, stylish design.”
