After a career that spanned 15 years, Dutchman Steven de Jongh announced his retirement from professional cycling at the end of this year’s Tour de France.

Most recently, de Jongh served as a valuable part of the Belgian Quick-Step team for their star Tom Boonen.

As is the case with many retired cyclists that possess tactical acumen, the Dutchman has been linked to re-enter the scene as a manager for the new British Team Sky.

Team Sky has already started to assemble the talent to become a force in their debut year, pulling Team Columbia-HTC’s Edvald Boasson Hagen and Thomas Lövkvist as well as Classics specialist Juan-Antonio Flecha from team Rabobank.
