Saturday, September 12, 2009 Champion to AG2r La Mondiale for two by VeloNation Press at 12:03 PM EST   comments Categories: Pro Cycling   French national champion Dimitri Champion, 26, has inked a deal with the AG2r La Mondiale for two years. The French team, run by Vincent Lavenu, already boasts a youthful line-up with 12 of his riders aged 25 and younger. "I wanted to stay in France and I liked the contract AG2r La Mondiale offered me since it will let me grow as a rider. I am happy to wear my French national champion's jersey on a French team. I want to ride beautiful races like Paris-Nice or the Tour de France," said Champion. Lavenu was glad to have the young rider on board saying, "Dimitri is a rider who is renowned for his reliability and professionalism. With his win in the French national championships he was able to show us that he can target specific goals.
