Andrei Kashechkin will make his comeback in tomorrow’s Time Trial World Championships in Mendrisio, Switzerland. The 29 year old, former Astana rider was suspended for blood doping and was set to return to competition on August 7th.
Kashechkin failed an out-of-competition control while on holiday in Turkey in August of 2007 several weeks after teammate Alexander Vinokourov tested positive for blood transfusions during the Tour de France.
Kashechkin, third in the Vuelta A Espana in 2006, is rumored to make his return with Astana although they have not yet received an extension for their Pro-Tour license.
The Kazakh rider will not take part in Sunday’s 262 kilometer road race.
