A number of Great Britain’s Olympic cyclists will be attending the Cycle Show in London next week. In attendance will be Gold medallists Nicole Cooke, Jamie Staff and Ed Clancy as well as double BMX World Champion Shanaze Reade.
A number of bikes will also be on display including World Champion Steve Peat’s downhill mountain bike, Shanaze Reade’s Olympic BMX bike and Ed Clancy’s World Record and Gold medal winning Team Pursuit track bike, ridden at teh 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
British Cycling will also be promoting it’s Skyride initiative, which is aiming to get Britain back on its bike, and the Go-Ride programme, which helps encourage young people into competitive cycling.
“As the governing body of cycling, we cover all aspects of the sport,” said British Cycling’s CEO, Ian Drake, “from creating the world’s best athletes to getting people on a bike for the first time.
“This week visitors to the Cycle Show can speak to us directly to find out what we are about and what we can do for them, whether they cycle to compete, ride to work or ride for the thrill of it.”
Cycle Show 2009 will run from October 8th (beginning with a trade and media only day) to October 11th at London’s Earls Court.
