Despite earlier reports, Pierrick Fédrigo has announced that he will stay with BBox - Bouygues Télécom according to France’s L'Equipe. The Frenchman had stated earlier that he wanted to leave the team highlighting the loss of their ProTour license. But the Frenchman has since changed his mind.
“It is best for everyone that I fulfill the last year of my contract, then to change next year. A conflict wouldn’t have been good for anyone, and especially not for me. I would have just lost a lot of energy and time,” the 31 year-old explained.
Astana has announced the signing of David de La Fuente (Fuji-Survetto) to fill the huge gaps left by the many riders that have left for Lance Armstrong’s Team RadioShack.
The Spaniard was good for one victory this year, the GP Miguel Indurain, and a second place in the mountain classification in the Vuelta a Espana and the GP Llodio. The Spaniard could become a reliable domestique for his countryman and two time Tour de France champion, Alberto Contador.
