At the Giro d'Italia presentation in Milan, 2009 triple stage winner Mark Cavendish said he's ready to light up the sprints in the 2010 edition of the race. The British sprint phenom, who's known for not mincing words, said he's going to shoot for victory in all seven of the sprint finishes next year.

"I always want to shine at the Giro," said Cavendish at the presentation in Milan. "There are seven stages for sprinters. Why not try winning them all?"

After this year's Giro Cavendish went on to win an incredible six stages in the Tour de France, demonstrating time-after-time that he had no equal when the race comes down to a bunch gallop.

Cavendish lost a stage in this year's race to Alessandro Petacchi, who will be riding for the Lampre-NGC team next season. The Italian rode for the LPR Brakes Pro Continental team who focused their efforts on Danilo Di Luca's bid for a second overall win. This year Petacchi will return with a dedicated leadout that will look to bring the mantle of sprint supremacy back to Italy.

American Tyler Farrar will also be looking to improve on his second place finishes to the Briton for 2010. Farrar had an incredible end to the season winning three stages in the Eneco Tour, one in the Vuelta a España, and two stages and the overall in the Circuit Franco-Belge. While Cavendish wasn't present for any of those wins, the taste of victory will provide the 25-year-old with plenty of motivation to improve over winter.
