The semi-classic Gent-Wevelgem will be 250km in length in 2010. The change was decided by the organizers after the spring shuffle, where Gent-Wevelgem was moved to the Sunday before the Ronde van Vlaanderen.

The flat race was previously held on the Wednesday after the Ronde. The final course is still being worked on. "We are still searching a few new passages and a cobble section here and there," course director Hans De Clercq told Het Nieuwsblad.

The race is very flat and doesn't have too many cobbles, with the exception of the Kemmelberg, featuring both cobbles and uphill. "The finale, with the double climbing of the Kemmelberg, will not fundamentally change," De Clercq said.
