Astana hires Sedun as Director Sportif

The Astana team has hired Russian Dimitri Sedun as another Director Sportif to work alongside Italian’s Giuseppe Martinelli and Guido Bontempi. The 38-year-old was a rider for the Roslotto, Mat and DeNardi teams in the 1990’s and early 2000’s before moving into management after his retirement.

He has previously worked with the women’s Acca Due O team – a predecessor to the current Safi-Pasta-Zara team – which included riders such as Kazakh Zulfia Zabirova, Lithuanians Diana Ziliute and Edita Pucinskaite as well as his Swiss wife Nicole Brändli.
