Niko Eeckhout has extended his contract with the AN Post-Sean Kelly Team for two years. The former Belgian champion turns 39 in December, making him one of the oldest riders in the peloton. Starting next year the team will be riding under a Belgian license.  In previous years the team has been registered with the UCI as an Irish team.

“In 2010 Niko will definitely still be racing,” said team manager Kurt Bogaerts to hln.be. “At the end of the season we will evaluate everything. Niko may keep racing in 2011, but that decision is up to him. If he is to stop, he will automatically enter the team car as director sportif. In this way our team captain does not have to worry about his future before the start of the new season.”

In 2009 Eeckhout was good for several victories including the GP Stad Zottegem, the Memorial Rik Van Steenbergen and the GP Briek Schotte.
