After leaving her job as a broker at the New York Wall Street, Evelyn Stevens will be lining up for the Columbia HTC squad next year.

In the summer of 2008, Stevens quit her day job, bought a bicycle and tried to emulate her sister, a cyclocross rider, according to www.radsport-news.com. Her breakthrough came in the World Championships in Mendrisio/Switzerland, where she finished 15th.

Stevens played tennis in college and while living and working in New York she took up running. Her quick move through the categories was mesmerizing and it took less than a year and a half from her first race to joining Columbia. Now she will be riding alongside long time pros such as Ina Yoko-Teutenberg und Judith Arndt.
