Christopher Thompson was supposed to receive his sentence on December 3 for purposefully hitting cyclists, but the sentencing has been postponed to after the holidays.
The reason for the postponement was an apparent H1N1 outbreak in the North County Correctional Facility, where Thompson is held until the sentencing, according to
BikingInLA
. The postponement happened over the objections of Assistant D.A. Mary Stone. The hearing will resume on January 8, 2010, at 8:30.
The Facility where Thompson awaits his sentencing was locked down and the entire unit was quarantined. The defense argued that this prevented them from preparing a necessary psychological evaluation in time for the scheduled sentencing date.
