Lance Armstrong's RadioShack team has given cycling fans a sneak preview of their working prototype for the 2010 jersey design. Armstrong's team said in a release, that while the final Jersey is expected to look very similar, it will be officially unveiled in Australia next month during the team's debut at the Santos Tour Down Under. Armstrong is slated to take part in the event for the second consecutive year.
Notable about the jersey is the Nissan badge on the right under the Nike swoosh. The Japanese car company was rumored to be sponsoring the team, and now that looks to be confirmed.
The goal for the RadioShack team jersey was to create a look that was visually distinctive and symbolic of what they feel Team RadioShack is all about: cutting edge technology, speed, strength, determination and a global message to LIVESTRONG.
Experts at Nike and their partners at RadioShack helped to create what the team describes as a fast form-fitting design that uses various textures and patterns symbolizing the themes of new technology, global connectivity and community.
The consensus from the team is: "We think it looks pretty damn cool."
Team RadioShack is currently gearing up at their first training camp in Tucson, Arizona, as it prepares to guide the seven-time Tour de France winner during his bid to win the race for an eighth time.
