Murilo Fischer is switching from the Liquigas to the Acqua e Sapone team, according to Cyclismag. Fischer's contract at Liquigas was not renewed for the 2010 season. The 30-year-old enters his seventh season as a professional.
The Brazilian has been fighting injury quite a bit in his time as a professional. He spent three years as a domestique for Liquigas. In 2009, he managed to win the Giro della Romagna.
He sums up his time at the ProTour and with the big teams rather realistically. "Instead of being calm, in the big teams you are treated like a race horse. When you begin to talk about lots of money, the human aspect is set aside and the only aspect left is the professional one."
Riding for a smaller team, Fischer gets a chance to go for wins for himself again. In 2005, when he rode for Naturino - Sapore di Mare, he had a great season. His wins included the Giro del Piemonte, GP Beghelli, GP Industria & Commercio di Prato, among others. He also had top placings in the Coppa Sabatini (fourth), the Coppa Bernocchi (third) and the Giro del Lazio (second). That great year was highlighted with a fifth place in the World Championships.
