Canadian Cycling Association forms Advisory Council

The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) has announced the formation of their first Advisory Council. CCA President John Tolkamp led the Council's formation has announced the initial members which include Tour de France stage winner and yellow jersey wearer Steve Bauer as well as Trek/LIVESTRONG U23 Director Axel Merckx, whose wife is Canadian and resides in British Columbia.

The Advisory Council's purpose is to advise the CCA Board and management to in their efforts to advance the sport of cycling in Canada.

The first meeting was held recently, and the discussions included a broad range of topics that included opportunities that could be realized from the 2010 Mountain Bike World Championships and the UCI Pro Tour events in Quebec.
