As the sport of cycling continues to crack down on doping in the sport, Team CSF Group Navigare rider Emanuele Sella looks to be the latest bounty in the UCI's strategy to target suspect riders.

Sella was in the news quite a bit earlier this season as he racked up 3 stage wins on his way to sealing up the mountains competition in the Giro d'Italia.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the International Cycling Union (UCI) performed an out of competition doping control on the rider July 23, and the test has come up positive for CERA the latest flavor of EPO - the same drug used by disgraced rider Ricardo Ricco.

The 27-year-old would not comment on the matter telling the ANSA news agency: "I know nothing of this story. Nothing has been said to me. Nothing is true."

For now, it appears as if testing on the B sample will be carried out.
