Sebastian Langeveld is starting to get worried about his Classics season. The Dutch rider had to abandon a training camp recently in Mallorca due to knee problems and an MRI was now performed on his right knee.

The MRI didn't give the desired result. "The image is a bit unclear," Langeveld told Sportweek. "According to the team doctor it is a problem with the tendon. I have to take it easy until the discomfort goes away. I don't want to force anything."

He has already begun training again since returning home from Mallorca, and hopes to start the Ruta del Sol on Sunday. If that doesn't work out, it would put a serious dent in his preparation. "Then I will definitely start to get worried. The Classics season is coming closer. I need some time to fully heal, but there isn't much time left. This week is crucial."

The talented youngster is very well suited to the Classics and showed his class in the 2008 Ronde van Vlaanderen with an attack on the Bosberg, the last climb of the day. While he ended up getting caught and eventually finished 18th, he showed a lot of promise for the future in the early-season Belgian races.
