Swiss cyclist Michael Albasini is out of the Olympic Games after injuring himself in fall while he was out training on Tuesday.

I was decided that Albasini will be returning home to Switzerland after an examination in the Olympic Village clinic diagnosed him with a broken collarbone . The 27-year-old Liquigas rider will not be replaced in the Swiss team for the road race this coming Saturday.

Albasini finished 7th in La Fleche Wallone earlier this year, and had ridden himself onto the podium several times throughout the season. His only win coming in stage 3 of the Tour of Luxemburg.
