Emma Johansson won the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad for women, held on a similar, but shorter route than the men's race. The Swedish rider was the best sprinter in a group of four in Gent, Belgium, after 125.7 km. Liesbet De Vocht and Grace Verbeke were beaten in the sprint, whereas Regina Bruins was dropped just before the finish.
The group was initially five women strong, but Sarah Düster was dropped 50km from the finish.
