Expected to recover quickly

Wouter WeylandtQuick Step rider Wouter Weylandt was taken to the emergency room two days after abandoning the Giro d'Italia due to gastroenteritis.  The Belgian's condition had worsened since arriving at home, and he was taken to the hospital in Gent after losing 5 pounds from dehydration.

Weylandt was the surprise winner of stage three in the Giro d'Italia, beating Graeme Brown in the lunge for the line.  He is expected recover over the weekend.

His stage win was good news for Weylandt, who hasn't taken a win since stage three of Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen last March.  The young Belgian has been under a lot of pressure from Quick Step boss Patrick Lefevere this year, who has said that his contract renewal for 2011 is far from certain.
