Milram's Roger Kluge secured the victory in today's Neuseen Classics (Rund um die Braunkohle). The Milram rider won the final sprint in the 174 kilometer race ahead of Steffen Radochla (Nutrixxon Sparkasse) after a solid showing by his German team.
"It was a very fast race, with many attacks at the start," explained sports director Ralf Grabsch after the race. "At kilometer 90 everyone came together again. A duo then tried to make it to the finish. We joined in the chase work shortly before the finish and brought Roger Kluge perfectly into position. Roger decided the sprint for himself magnificently and rewarded all of us with this great result."
Milram's top sprinter Gerald Ciolek was scheduled to race, but had to cancel at the last minute due to illness. He broke his collarbone early this season at the Tour of Qatar, and is still searching for his first victory this year. Ciolek finished second to Saxo Bank's Alex Rasmussen in the opening stage of the Four Days of Dunkerque earlier this month.
