Suspect arrested and charged with 12 felonies

In a display of utter disregard for human life and malicious intent to kill, a motorist in San Francisco mowed down four cyclists in a frightening rampage that spanned six minutes Wednesday night in San Francisco.

After hitting his fourth cyclist, the driver, now identified as David Mark Clark, crashed his Nissan Rogue SUV and fled the scene.

Police were on the scene almost immediately, but the suspect was gone by the time they arrived. San Francisco police caught up with the suspect, Clark, on Friday when he approached the Albany Police Department with a tale, which claimed that his car had been carjacked.

Police were not deterred, arrested Clark, and charged the suspect with "four felony counts each of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and hit and run resulting injury," according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The four victims are all expected to survive. One of the riders was treated at the scene of the incident and then sent home. The other three were not so lucky, but all are expected to make it.
