2006 U23 Paris-Roubaix winner stays with Pro Continental team

Tom VeelersTom Veelers has signed a two-year extension with the Skil-Shimano team that will see the rider continue with the team through 2012.  He rode well during the spring Classics, opening up the Belgian calendar with ninth in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, then put in another solid ride to finish eighth in Dwars door Vlaanderen and capped off the first part of his season with an impressive 13th place in Paris-Roubiax.

His performances saw the 25 year old emerge as one of the best Dutch riders during the spring, and his steady progress since coming over from Rabobank Continental in 2008 has prompted the team to secure his services for the future.

Veelers recently finished fifth in his national championships, where the Rabobank team was upset by Milram's Niki Terpstra.
