Safi Pasta Zara team to become Team Geox with Claudio Corti at the helm
The new Italian ProTour hopeful, Team Geox, has already assembled an impressive array of names heading into the 2011 season, notably Denis Menchov and Carlos Sastre. Like Carlos Sastre's old Cervelo Test Team, it appears that the Italian shoe company, Geox, will also include a women's team.
Wielerland.nl reports that this year's Safi-Pasta Zara team will likely morph into the new Geox women's team. The team will get a big boost at the managerial level, as it seems that legendary director, Claudio Corti, will manage the team and bring former Lampre and Saeco sponsor, Caffita, with him. Corti has been out of the cycling limelight for a season now following the demise of his Barloworld team at the end of 2009.
