Riis still cryptic on the matter - does not offer a definitive no

The humorous saga of Michael Rasmussen's rumored signing with Saxo Bank has headed down from its recent peak yesterday when rumors brimmed forth with news that the former Tour de France yellow jersey wearer would be signing for Bjarne Riis's team in the near future.

As per the norm, Bjarne Riis calmly responded to the rumors, and calmly said exactly what he has said on at least three previous occasions.

"Basically, nothing has happened in the case from my side, nothing is under discussion. Nothing has happened," said Riis in a conversation with politiken.dk.

The former Tour de France winner from 1996 has nothing against the tv celebrity, in fact, Riis wishes him nothing but the best and hopes that he'll receive the opportunity to race at the highest level again.

"I stand by what I said though - it would be appropriate for him to get another chance, but I have not said that it should be with me."

Again though, like always, the big Dane, Riis, has not definitively said no, and thus the next round of rumors are getting ready to move forward.
