filippo pozzatoFilippo Pozzato (Katusha) has teamed up with Scicon bags to create the “Pippo Pouch”, which will be sold to raise money and awareness of the recent victims of flooding in the Veneto region of north east Italy. The former Italian champion originates from the region has himself donted €10,000 to institutions that will assist in the reonstruction of houses damaged by the flooding and hopes to raise more by encouraging his fans to purchase his “pouch”

"Seeing the roads of my home flooded,” said Pozzato, “those on which I learned to ride a bike, gave me great sadness."

"Today I live in Monaco", he continued, "but my heart remains firmly planted in my homeland. I'm not used to publicising the benefits of my actions, but want to raise public awareness on a disaster about which one cannot remain impassive. This is why I say to all sportspeople today: you buy that bag and families who have lost everything will thank you"

The “Pippo Pouch” is a microfibre drawstring bag, measuring 30cm x 40cm, which can be used to carry a change of clothing, a pair of shoes or a helmet, or be used as a travel laundry bag. The front of the bag features a picture of Pozzato, celebrating a victory while wearing the Italian champion’s jersey.

The bag is available direct from www.sciconbags.com at a price of €10; or a version personally signed by Pippo himself is available at a price of €20. Proceeds will go to help the flood victims of the Veneto.
