Former British junior road race champion Adam Norris and promising 21 year old Jack Pullar are the first signings announced for the new Vanillabikes.com team, which will make its debut in 2011.
Set up with the goal of “supporting a team that provides up and coming riders with high quality cycling equipment and the opportunity to test themselves against the best riders in the UK,” preparations are currently being made for the new season.
Norris is 23 years of age and comes from Romford in Essex. The former national junior champ has ridden for some of the top British teams in recent years, including the Plowman Craven, BMC UK and Orbea-For Goodness Shakes squads. His form was affected by illness this year, but he is looking forward to a better showing in 2011.
Pullar is two years younger and hails from Bolton-le-Sands in Lancashire. He’s described as an explosive rider with a good sprint.
“With such great past results and future improvements to be made, Vanillabikes.com feels very fortunate to have acquired such riders for their team,” said the squad in a release. “It will strive to help these riders onto greater things in 2011 and beyond. These two young talents will be riding the Premier Calendar series, Elite crit series and other National A events.”
The team will use Rolf Prima wheels. More details of both sponsors and riders will come in the near future.
