Lampre satisfied with first training camp

Cunego, Petacchi and others meet up in Italy

LampreAs is the case with many other teams around this time, the Lampre-ISD squad had its first training camp in advance of 2011. Top riders Damiano Cunego and Alessandro Petacchi were amongst those in attendance during the stay at the Hotel San Martino in Darfo Boario Terme.

“The program of the training camp was full of activities,” said the team in a statement. “The camp was the opportunity to start to create a proper team spirit, thanks to the integration of new cyclists and of new members of the staff, and to explain to all the details of the internal rules of the team.”

Riders had previously been physiologically tested at the Mapei Centre and the results of these assessments were used to give training programmes to each riders.

The four day camp also allowed the sponsors to meet up with the team, including Lampre, Wilier, Santini, Gaerne, FSA, Selle San Marco and eyewear supplier Zerorh +.

The 2011 lineup is expected to see ten new riders come on board: ISD-Neri’s Vitaly Kondrut, Denys Kostyuk and Yuri Metlushenko, Michele Scarponi and Leonardo Bertagnolli (Androni Giocattoli – Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni), Yuri Metlushenko and Volodymyr Starchyk, (Amore & Vita – Conad), Przemyslaw Niemiec (Miche Pro Cycling Team), Aitor Perez Arrieta (Footon Servetto) and the stagiaire Matteo Rabottini.
