The Farnese Vini-Neri Sottoli team will meet up on the Tuscan coastal resort of Castagneto Carducci next week for the first training camp of the 2011 season. The team, which was called ISD-Neri in 2010, has exchanged its primary sponsor for the Lampre team’s secondary one, and also has an almost entirely new roster for next year.
The only confirmed names to remain from the 2010 team are that of Visconit, who added a second successive European Tour victory to his Italian tricolore, Patrik Sinkewitz, who joined the team in the middle of this year, Diego Caccia and Oscar Gatto. With the departure of Ukrainian sponsor ISD, the eastern European riders have departed (many to the Lampre-ISD team) and the 2011 line up will be almost completely Italian.
“Finally we are starting to work seriously,” said the team’s manager Luca Scinto, who has already been in daily contact with the riders, “even if the staff didn't really knock off. All of the athletes have received their racing program and during the weeklong camp we'll lay the foundations for the season.
“We have new athletes and I'm sure that they will quickly integrate well with the group, which is our strength,” he added. “In the week long camp, indeed, we'll work together and that will be very important to amalgamate the team.”
As well as meeting their new teammates, the riders will also be presented with their new equipment for the 2011 season, including the latest version of the MCipollini RB1000 bike.
