Iljo Keisse, Leif Lampater and Robert Bartko added to already star-studded line up

Iljo KeisseGent Six-Days winner Iljo Keisse (Quick Step) has been confirmed for this Saturday’s Revolution event at the Manchester Velodrome, as well as Gent runner up Leif Lampater and third placed Robert Bartko. The three riders will join Swiss star Franco Marvulli, who was already confirmed as riding; all four are currently riding the Zurch Six-Days, where Bartko (with Danilo Hondo) took the lead from Marvulli last night.

The four European stars will be joined in the evening’s endurance events by ex Discovery Channel rider Michael Creed, American Kit Karzan and rising Swiss talent Claudio Imhof, as well as a strong British contingent, which will include Olympic bronze medalist Steven Burke, Rapha Condor Sharp’s Dean Downing and Team Sky’s Pete Kennaugh and Russell Downing.

“Revolution has developed a reputation for hard racing on the continent,” said Revolution Promoter James Pope. “Marvulli and a few of the other six day guys confirmed that this reputation has spread on the European scene and riders want to come and test themselves against the young Brits.”

“We have a lot of talent here in the UK and the younger riders want to prove themselves at Revolution so they always race as hard as they can,” he continued. “This is why some of the stars often struggle to win at Revolution. From our perspective it’s great and gives an edge to the racing, which is what Revolution is all about.”

The young British talent will be led by Junior World Madison Champion Simon Yates and Jon Mould, who came close to victory in the under 23 Six-Days in Gent, along with a number of British Cycling Academy riders including Alex Dowsett, Andy Fenn, Mark Christian and Luke Rowe.

On top of the star-studded endurance line up there will be a number of star sprinters on the bill, including World kilometre champion Teun Mulder, former World champion Craig MacLean and World and Olympic medallist Ross Edgar.

The evening’s racing will close with a Team Sprint match up between Great Britain and the Netherlands.

Some tickets are still available for the event, with racing beginning at 7pm on Satuday December 11th, either from www.cyclingrevolution.com or by calling 0843 208 1840.
