The Nederland Bloeit team has revealed its new clothing design for 2011, just two days before beginning its competitive road season in the Tour of Qatar. The new clothing, made by Italian company Giessegi, now features bolder panels of green on the jersey and more dominantly black shorts compared to last year.
The new jersey and shorts are modelled by World number one, and newly re-crowned World cyclocross champion Marianne Vos, who will not be racing in Qatar as she is still concentrating on cyclocross and track racing. Having retained her cyclocross jersey, the Dutchwoman will be riding at the World Track Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands at the end of March, where the home fans will be treated to a match up between Vos and supersprinter Kirsten Wild (AA Drink-Leontien.nl).
Although she didn’t wear them on her team jersey last year, Vos sports rainbow bands on her sleeves thanks to her 2006 road title.
Vos herself has been wearing clothing by Giessegi since January 1st but, since she has been wearing the rainbow jersey of World cyclocross champion, the new design has not been revealed until today.
