RCS Sport’s spring races to be available worldwide; fingers crossed for the Giro d’Italia!

stefano garzelliThe three spring races organised by Giro d’Italia owners RCS Sport will all be broadcast on international networks, thanks to a deal brokered by Italian TV’s international division Rai Trade. These networks will include Universal Sports in the US, Eurosport in Europe and JSport in Japan.

The three “Corse di Primavera”, consisting of Montepaschi Strade Bianche, Tirreno-Adriatico and Milano-Sanremo will therefore be available to watch by cycling fans Worldwide.

In Italy all three races will enjoy a total of 24 hours of live coverage, as well as highlights and analysis programmes, on Rai Tre and Rai Sport 2, and be broadcast live on Rai Radio 1; it is the possibility of watching the races outside of the boot-shaped peninsular that excites us most at VeloNation.

Currently there is no word on whether the deal will be extended to include RCS Sport’s biggest race, the Giro d’Italia, but we have our fingers crossed.

As well as the international TV channels, the races will also be shown live on the websites of the Gazzetta dello Sport (www.gazzetta.it) and Rai Sport (www.raisport.rai.it).

RCS Sport’s “Corse di Primavera”:
Montepaschi Strade Bianche – March 5th
Tirreno-Adriatico – March 9th – 15th
Milano-Sanremo – March 19th
